Sunset Over Water is one that stood out for me, too. Not only do I think it will tile well, but light text should be visible over any part of it.
Plus, I think it's a beautiful picture.

I must admit I'm not crazy about the window picture. But the Nile one and the Chinese hills one are both gorgeous and were both in my list of picks. Thanks for that both of you. I'll mention those in the list.
I won't be in today (I have to go to a pensioners lunch - boring) but when I get back this afternoon I'll start testing some of the picks and then you can tell me what you think. Skokey I might call on you to help with tiling the background, I just can't seem to get that part of it right.
I also might suggest to Petal that she look at some of those for her makeover for Anything Goes. We have some ideas to do something interesting with that one after Christmas.
Thank you both for you help. Lesa if you come up with ideas, please let me know I truly value your input.

Thanks Lesa, no problem. I really don't want to do too much with that site which is really more of a travel blog than anything else but I do want to give it a fresh look, just change all the colors and the background from the earthy tones. But any suggestions you can offer will be appreciated.

Great job on all of those, Skokey! 
I still like the sunset one. Not only do I think it's the prettiest of the three, but it's easier to choose a text color that shows up on all parts of it. Take a look at this. I put some random bolding in there so you can see how that would look, as well.
