A Non-Runboard Website Question re: Images & YouTube

Hello

It's been a while since I've asked a question here, but I've been asked by the webmaster of a certain site for help, but I can't find the answer so now I need to ask for help. emoticon

First Problem:

http://www.oakdalejmcc.com.au/gallery.html

On the page linked above, a YouTube video has been placed on the page. When you scroll down the page, the video goes over the navigation bar instead of under it. Is there a remedy for this?

Second Problem:

http://www.oakdalejmcc.com.au/sponsors.html

On this page, you'll notice an underline under the images. I've tried all sorts of things to get rid of the line but nothing has worked. It's quite frustrating really.

I tried text-decoration: none; but that didn't work.

Could you please advise me? Thank you.

Hi Scribe,

Here is something that's supposed to fix the layering problem with videos. Although I haven't tried it myself, it looks like they tested it quite a bit.

text-decoration: none; won't work on the image like removing borders from images, because the underline is part of the link, not the image. For some reason, some browsers will underline the image if the image isn't by itself. On the page in question, you have the line breaks and text.

There are a few ways you could solve this.

1) Use 2 separate <a> tags for each link (one for the image and one for the text).

2) Use text-decoration: none for those links, then put a <span> around the text and give the span an underline.

3) Remove all underlining from those links.

I hope this helps. emoticon

Ah, for the image problem I had actually neglected to close the code for the image before adding the text. That's fixed now thanks to your advice.

I couldn't work out the fix for the YouTube problem, but the webmaster isn't overly concerned about it and has decided to let the matter drop.

Thanks once again for your help. It's always appreciated.
