Stuck on text boxes
Hi,
On this site I am attempting to keep some of my Celtic theme in place and was doing pretty good I think but I would like to have a small text "logo" under my churches name and then two text boxes side by side under that. Trouble is I cannot even figure out where the text goes right now so I could use some pointers when you get the chance... It isn't a major rush. I don't really think I can even look at it again until Wednesday or Thursday but if you get the time to help I would really appreciate it...

Re: Stuck on text boxes
Wellll... you remember telling me about putting borders around things to help figure out what I was doing? I did that to get a "logo box" in place but it takes a ton of white space and of course it doesn't keep the same display when the browser window is not the same as what I use when designing things. *sigh* So I guess I'll have to create 3 logo boxes and butt them into each other...

Re:
If you have an area that isn't completely covered by an image, you can also try using a background color instead of a border.

Did I ever tell you what I think of IE? Why doesn't it cooperate and display what I am telling it to like Chrome, FF, Flock and Opera do? Arghhhhhhhh....

Re: Stuck on text boxes
Quentin at Stackoverflow.com gave me the idea of changing my doctype to at least reflect what I have been working under for the last few years so this morning I did that and now the display is correct in IE8 and better. IE7 is at least usable which is good but anything under IE7 is a lost cause.
It is amazing what a huge difference the doctype in the HTML makes on how IE reads and interprets the CSS!

Re: Stuck on text boxes
I always use XHTML because its strict rules make it more accurate when used correctly. When enough browsers support HTML5 well enough, I'll switch to that, but that's still in development.
