Re: The Power of Naps Hmmmm, well they never do me much good, cause it takes me at least 20 minute to FALL asleep! At least 45 to 60 minutes at night....

Re: The Power of Naps I have some kind of mental issue with alarm clocks. No matter what time I have to get up. No matter what time I set the clock for. I WILL wake up 30 minutes before it's set to go off and lay there looking at the damned thing, till it goes off!
I told hubby it's all his fault....once when he was in the Navy, our electric alarm did not go off due to power outage. And he missed his ships movement. Thus he was considered AWOL till he showed up. He was actually brought to Captains mast and busted down a rank.
Since that day, I've have an electric clock AND a wind up or battery operated one and I've woken up 30 minutes before they are due to go off! Need mental help me thinks...

Re: The Power of Naps I switch between setting an alarm on my iPhone and my iPad, and sometimes set both, because it's too automatic for me to hit snooze and go back to sleep. I'm just not a morning person.
Re: The Power of Naps I have a 'sound machine' for my electric alarm. I have a choice of using a "beep" as the alarm, or using the same sound that I fell asleep with, to wake me up. NOW.....why would anyone choose the sound they use to FALL asleep, to try to wake you up???

Re: The Power of Naps I can use any ringtone or music that's on my iPhone, or a choice of different sounds on my iPad. It seems like I should be able to use music on my iPad, too, but I haven't found that option or bothered to Google it.
Yes, it does seem strange to use the same music to put you to sleep and wake you up. If it's soothing enough to put you to sleep, I don't see how it would wake you up, and if it wakes you up, I don't see how it would put you to sleep. 'You' meaning anyone in this case, not you specifically.
Edit: I found the option to wake up to music on my iPad.

Re: The Power of Naps That was my thought exactly!
I have used a ringtone on my Samsung Galaxy as an alarm when we went camping and I forgot to bring an alarm clock.....
I used the song I have for my son's ringtone when he calls: "Born to be Wild"... It FITS HIM!!
Hubby is "Cheeseburger in Paradise"
My normal ringtone for everyone is: "Rainbow Connection" by the MUPPET'S! I get the weirdest looks when it goes off in a store or some place...

Re: The Power of Naps That is MY EXACT ringtone!
I have a LOT of John Denver ones, but usually they start off so quiet that the call has gone to voice mail before I hear it or feel the vibration...
And it's fun to see peoples faces when Kermit starts singing in my pocket....
