Re: the Science and Bible thread

I'm not sure what you mean here? I don't get the question anotherwords.

The way I get it is...Why do we have to speak to a priest or pastor or monk or whomever to speak to God ? Why the intermediary ? God is omniscient/omnipresent right ? He knows our prayers...He knows our desires...Etc etc...Why should there be a church or organization involved to mediate our relation with God ?

Re: the Science and Bible thread(edited post)

several reasons;
Jesus is God Incarnate.He established a Church. Why do we need? We obviously do.He thought so for one thing.He never intended it's God,the Bible and me-we need sound doctrine,infallible teaching and we have covenant. Jesus is God Incarnate-He was truly God and truly man.God is outside of time.Jesus entered it.He was visible,real and dwelt among us.You could talk to Him,touch Him,hear Him.He gave visible signs of His being God in His miracles and His teaching.He truly died on the cross. God's love for man made really and truly manifest.

BTW. that doesn't preclude our talking to God ourselves without an intermediary.I do this all the time.Jesus Himself was an intermediary between man and the Father.(We're Trinitarian).

When we marry the person we love-we exchange vows,make a covenant,give each other rings and act in accordance with that covenant.We don't just SAY we're married.We have a conjugal union,conceive life and live the committment/covenant.

Bottom line:Jesus established a Church and it's His gift to us.
I don't see any reason to refuse it.
